Teriyaki Beef

The ingredient of Teriyaki Beef

  • 1 2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 4 cup mirin
  • 1 4 cup caster sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons finely grated ginger
  • 1 garlic clove thinly sliced
  • 800g beef rump steak
  • 1 tablespoon alfa one rice bran oil
  • cooked sunrice japanese style sushi rice to serve
  • thinly sliced green onion to serve

The Instruction of teriyaki beef

  • place soy sauce mirin sugar honey sesame oil ginger and garlic in a saucepan over medium high heat bring to the boil reduce heat to low simmer for 5 to 10 minutes remove from heat cool to room temperature
  • pour soy sauce mixture into a large shallow ceramic dish add steak turn to coat cover refrigerate for 3 hours
  • drain beef reserving marinade heat rice bran oil in a large frying pan over medium high heat cook steak for 3 to 4 minutes each side for medium or until cooked to your liking transfer steak to a plate cover loosely with foil set aside for 5 minutes to rest add reserved marinade to pan bring to the boil reduce heat to low simmer uncovered for 2 to 3 minutes or until reduced slightly
  • thinly slice steak serve with rice green onion and drizzled with sauce
